Induction program for new intake CCIS Students

On February 17, 2025, Student Guidance Committee(SGC) of the College of Computing and Information Sciences(CCIS) conducted an induction program for new intake students at the ELC Hall. Mr. Antonio R. Manalang extended a warm welcome to the students and provided an introduction to the University’s vision, mission, strategic goals, values, graduate attributes ,details about the programs offered by the department, eligibility criteria for moving to next level, and other important academic matters . He inspired the students to strive for excellence in both their academic pursuits and extracurricular engagements.
Ms. Seham Nasser Al Darai presented information regarding the IT Society and highlighted various extracurricular activities, including opportunities for competition. She elaborated on the chances available for students to engage in both internal and external contests.
Mrs. Mallika Banu outlined the advising and counseling services offered, promoting academic excellence and participation in tutorial sessions. She detailed the registration process, the implications of academic probation, GPA calculations, and the procedures for course improvement and withdrawal.
Mr. Momen Hilal Al Harthy addressed the support services provided by the Student Affairs department, assuring students that counseling services are available to assist them with personal challenges.
Mrs. Fatma Suleiman Al Saifi, representing the Quality Assurance Department, summarized the University's strategic plan for 2022 to 2025, emphasizing its future vision. She highlighted the institution's dedication to Quality Assurance, which aims to maintain high academic standards and enhance student satisfaction.
Ms. Huda Harib Al-Maskari, Head of Partnership and Entrepreneurship, discussed the opportunities available for students in entrepreneurship and innovation. She encouraged them to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys and motivated them to contribute their innovations and ideas, thereby developing their skills and capabilities to achieve their goals and benefit their community.
