Electricity Safety First – Workshop Report

The Health, Safety and Environment Team of the Department of Economics and Business Administration organized a workshop titled “Electricity Safety First” on November 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Room BS 129. The session, conducted by Mr. Rajababu Natarajan from the Department of Engineering and Technology, focused on raising awareness about electrical safety. A total of 22 participants attended.

The workshop covered the significance of electrical safety, common electrical issues, possible hazards and their causes, and ways to mitigate risks. Mr. Rajababu also explained precautions while using electrical appliances and first aid procedures for electric shock victims. Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing observations and practical insights to enhance safety awareness.

The session concluded with a Q&A segment, reinforcing the key message that safety begins with awareness and responsible handling of electricity.
