Comprehensive First Aid Awareness Session: Empowering Preparedness and Safety

On May 13, 2024, the Health, Safety, and Environment Committee of the Business Studies Department organized a First Aid Awareness session at the Student Learning Resource Center from 2 PM to 3 PM. Presented by student member Ahmed Saif Humaid Al-Mahmoodi, the session introduced key first aid concepts and emergency procedures, with topics including ensuring location safety, rapid assessment of the situation, contacting emergency services, and administering appropriate first aid. Emphasis was placed on handling various types of wounds, managing cardiac arrest, diabetes, and airway management during seizures, with a focus on tailored first aid procedures for student awareness.

The session featured practical demonstrations of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use, wound management, and handling diabetic emergencies, reinforcing the theoretical knowledge presented. This comprehensive approach concluded with a question-and-answer session, further enhancing participants' preparedness and response capabilities, ultimately contributing to a safer university environment.
