CCIS - “Oman Qualification Framework (OQA) Workshop”
The Staff Development Committee of the College of Computing and Information Sciences organized a workshop titled “Oman Qualification Framework” on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, from 11:50 AM to 1:40 PM @ IT302
The session was delivered by the internal speakers, Mr. Anand M., Mr. Mohammed Tariq Shaikh & Mr. Mohamed Ruknudeen Rafi.
The workshop offered an overview of the Oman Qualifications Framework (OQF), a national system that encompasses all education and training sectors in Oman. The presenters highlighted that the OQF aims to ensure consistency and comparability of qualifications across institutions, acknowledge learning outcomes regardless of where they are attained, strengthen quality standards within education and training, and support equal recognition of academic pathways. Detailed discussions were held on the level descriptors and the distinctive features of each level. Additionally, the concept of learning outcomes was clearly explained to help staff understand their critical importance in curriculum development and qualification recognition.
To enhance understanding in better way, an activity was carried out in which staff members collaborated in groups to analyze and present their insights on the topics discussed. This interactive component allowed participants to engage with the material in a more practical and collaborative manner.
The speakers were honored with appreciation certificates, presented by Mr. Antonio Rutaf Manalang, HOS-IT on behalf of the CCIS
