CCIS - “Academic Advising Policy Awareness Program”

 

The Staff Development Committee of the College of Computing and Information Sciences organized an awareness Program titled “Academic Advising Policy” Thursday, 04 December 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in IT105 for CCIS staff members.

The session was delivered by the internal speaker, Ms. Mallika Banu, Registrar -CCIS.

The session provided detailed insights into effective advising practices, the academic advising framework, the structure of the branch-level academic advising committee, and the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders, including advisors and coordinators. It also outlined the procedures involved in academic advising, clarified the specific responsibilities of advisors, and highlighted the importance of proper documentation and the forms required for advising-related activities.

The program aimed to strengthen staff awareness and understanding of academic advising policies to ensure effective guidance, proper monitoring, and consistent academic support for students.

A total of 24 staff members participated in the program, and the session successfully delivered comprehensive awareness on the academic advising policy and its practical implementation within the department.
