About Ibri Branch (CAS)

It is a branch of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, located in Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate. The college was established according to the Royal Decree No. 79/95 to develop intermediate colleges into colleges of education. In the academic year 1995/1996 and in accordance with the Royal Decree 79/95 issuing the statutes of education colleges for male and female teachers, the college became affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and awards its graduates Bachelor`s Degree in education. Then, in the academic year 2005/2006 the college was transformed into a college of applied sciences that awards a Bachelor of Science Degree in some applied programs.

 

On August 12th, 2020, Royal Decree No. 76/2020 was issued to establish the University of Technology and Applied Sciences. The College of Applied Sciences in Ibri represents one of the University`s branches in Al Dhahirah Governorate and offers two programs. First, it offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in the disciplines of computer networks, information technology security, data management and programming applications development. Second, it offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in the field of management, which includes the specialization of business administration and the specialization of marketing, and the field of accounting, which includes the specialization of accounting as well as the specialization of banking and banking services. The college also offers a diploma program in the specializations of Information Technology, Business Administration and Foundation Program. In this respect, the total number of bachelor`s degree graduates in the applied programs until the end of 2020/2021 reached 2539 male and female students, and the number of diploma graduates in the applied programs reached 216 male and female students.

 

The College of Applied Sciences in Ibri is considered one of the leading educational institutions in applying the principles of institutional quality assurance. In fact, it has taken many measures and policies to meet the requirements of quality assurance including those related to ensuring the provision of top-notch academic programs that can yield professional competencies capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments and meeting the needs of the local, regional and global market. It is worth noting that the college was the first, among the six applied colleges, that was audited by the Omani Authority for Academic Accreditation. The first phase of institutional accreditation (quality auditing) began in March 2008. The college also implements ambitious community service programs annually, targeting multiple segments and sectors of society in such a way that supports the sustainable development process and Oman Vision 2040.
