The OQ Hackathon for Digital Sustainability, held on 20–21 September 2024, provided a platform for innovative solutions in sustainability and digital technology. The Engineering and Technology Department at UTAS-Nizwa participated with the project "Home Automation: Water Supply and Water Tank Monitoring System over IoT" under the supervision of Dr. Wisam. Their innovative solution won the prestigious Best Prototype Prize.

This study investigates using Calotropis gigantea milk and various waste materials, such as aluminum dust, date palm fiber, shopping plastic bags, and thermocol beads, to create thermally insulating self-cured concrete from bio and industrial waste.
