Tourism Students' Field Visit to Al Saleel National Park, Al Kamil
The College of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Ibra successfully organized a field visit for Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality students to Al Saleel National Park, Al Kamil, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to Oman’s natural heritage, wildlife conservation efforts, and eco-tourism initiatives.
Al Saleel National Park, a protected area in Al Kamil, is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, including the Arabian gazelle and various bird species. The park serves as an excellent learning site for tourism students, allowing them to understand the significance of sustainable tourism and conservation management.
During the visit, 81 students had the opportunity to explore the park’s landscapes, observe wildlife in their natural habitat, and interact with park officials. The park authorities provided insights into the conservation strategies implemented to protect endangered species and preserve the ecosystem. The students also gained valuable knowledge about eco-tourism practices and the role of national parks in promoting responsible tourism.
