Project OHS Plan from an HR Perspective

On December 17, 2024, an engaging guest lecture on “Project OHS Plan from an HR Perspective” was delivered to the Bachelor’s students of Human Resource Management specialization enrolled in the course BSHR4101-Occupational Health and Safety. The session was conducted by Mr. Yousuf Rashid Shinoon Al Siyab, an esteemed HSE Specialist from A'Sharqiya University, Ibra Sultanate of Oman, and was attended by students and staff members.

Mr. Yousuf began the lecture by emphasizing the importance of workplace safety and the role of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices in reducing occupational hazards. He provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of occupational health and safety, highlighting the importance of risk assessments, preventive measures, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

The lecture included real-world examples of workplace incidents and how they could have been prevented through effective safety practices. Mr. Yousuf also shared his experiences as an HSE Specialist, providing practical insights into how industries can create safer work environments while improving employee well-being and productivity.

The students were actively engaged during the session, asking questions about the challenges of implementing safety protocols in different sectors. Mr. Yousuf answered their queries with detailed explanations and encouraged them to think critically about their future roles in promoting occupational safety in their respective fields.
