NextGen Coders: The Innovation Challenge
(Where today’s coders create tomorrow’s solutions)
The competition provides a platform for students to showcase their problem-solving, coding, and research skills, applying advanced techniques in programming and AI. It fosters creativity, academic growth, and technical proficiency while encouraging innovative contributions to the field. The event was held on April 22, 2025, as an individual competition consisting of a single round. Python was the programming language used.
NextGen Innovators: The AI-driven Paper Presentation Challenge
(Today’s AI-Driven Ideas, Shaping Tomorrow’s Business, Engineering, and IT)
The objective is to effectively communicate research findings and insights, fostering knowledge exchange and inspiring future innovations.
Theme:
"Artificial Intelligence: Enhancing Innovation Across Business, IT, and Engineering"
- Business: AI-driven innovation in business strategies, finance, marketing, and customer service.
- Engineering: Engineering AI systems that support innovation in robotics, automation, and product development.
- IT: AI’s role in developing software solutions, data analysis, and technological innovation.
The event took place on April 29, 2025, and was conducted as a group competition with no limit on the number of participants per team; however, only two members were allowed to present. It was open to all students across the UTAS–Ibra Branch.
NextGen: TechFusion 2025 Award Ceremony
The award ceremony was held on May 20, 2025, at 12:00 noon in Room IT105. Mr. Mohammad Hamdoon Al-Azki, Head of Centre - Information Systems and Educational Technologies Centre was the Guest of Honor for the occasion. The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Antonio Rutaf Manalang, HoS-Information Technology, who greeted the students and the guest, and provided an overview of the NextGen: TechFusion 2025 competitions. A recap of the competitions was shown through a video created by Ms. Sherin Thomas. The Guest of Honor addressed the gathering, delivering an inspiring speech that captivated the audience. He also presented the awards to the winners. Following the prize distribution, Dr. Shamganth, HoS, Electrical and Electronics from the College of Engineering and Technology, representing the NextGen chairpersons, gave an inspirational message, and the students shared their experiences and expressed their appreciation for the program. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Joseph Raphael. The College of Computing and Information Sciences extends a heartfelt appreciation to the following for their contributions and support:
