Workshop Report: "Mastering Research Methodology: Your Guide to Effective Research"

The Department of Business Studies at UTAS Ibra organized a workshop titled "Mastering Research Methodology: Your Guide to Effective Research" on November 5, 2024, aimed at Graduation Project students.

Dr. Nithya Ramachandran conducted the session, which focused on strengthening students’ research skills from problem formulation to data analysis. Held at 12:10 PM in BS 133, the workshop began with an overview of research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, sampling methods, and the importance of ethical considerations.

Dr. Nithya emphasized selecting appropriate methods aligned with specific research objectives to ensure valid and reliable results. To encourage practical learning, students participated in group activities where they designed research frameworks and chose methodologies for sample research questions. This hands-on component allowed students to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, fostering deeper understanding. An interactive discussion followed, during which Dr. Nithya addressed individual challenges students encountered in their projects, providing tailored guidance.

 The session concluded with a Q&A, where students raised additional questions about data validation, specific research techniques, and overcoming obstacles in their research. The workshop was highly appreciated by students, as it offered them essential tools and strategies to enhance the quality of their research projects.
