DCIS Students Participate in Hackathon Industrial Challenge at UTAS-Ibri
A group of Bachelor students from the Department of Computing and Information Sciences participated in the Hackathon Industrial Challenge held at UTAS-Ibri on 5 May 2026. The competition brought together teams from different colleges and universities across the sultanate, all working intensively to develop innovative, practical solutions to industry-based challenges within a limited time frame.
Throughout the event, the students demonstrated strong collaboration, creativity, and technical proficiency. They were challenged to analyze real industry problems and design technology-driven solutions, with many teams focusing on areas such as automation, smart systems, data analytics, and sustainable digital solutions.
The Hackathon provided valuable exposure to real industry practices, including rapid development, critical thinking under pressure, and effective presentation of ideas. Mentors from both industry and academia supported the participants by providing guidance and constructive feedback to improve their project outputs.
