Bridging Academia and Professional Practice: Internal Audit Awareness Course
Business
The Department of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences – Ibra continues to strengthen its commitment to experiential learning by facilitating student engagement with industry professionals. In line with this objective, 20 students and 2 staff members recently participated in an Internal Audit Awareness Course organized by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Oman on 13 April 2026.
The session offered valuable insights into the fundamental principles of internal auditing, its critical role in enhancing organizational governance, and the evolving expectations within the auditing profession. Such initiatives play a significant role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world professional practices, equipping students with relevant industry exposure.
Participation in this course significantly benefited students by enhancing their understanding of real-world auditing practices, strengthening their awareness of governance and risk management concepts, and improving their readiness for professional careers in accounting and auditing. It also provided them with the opportunity to interact with industry experts, thereby building confidence and expanding their professional perspectives.
