1. Program Overview

The Department of Economics and Business Administration organized an Academic Risk Program to support students in improving their academic performance and preparing effectively for final examinations. The session focused on helping students develop organized study habits, effective revision techniques, and practical strategies to overcome distractions and academic stress during examination periods. The program was conducted in BS 102 on 07th May 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and witnessed active participation from students identified under the Academic Risk category.

2. Objective

The main objectives of the program were:

  • To guide students in preparing systematically for final examinations
  • To improve students’ time management and study planning skills
  • To introduce effective memorization and concentration techniques
  • To help students reduce stress, distraction, and anxiety during exams
  • To encourage positive academic attitudes and self-discipline among students

3. Session Highlights

The session was conducted by Dr. Issa bin Salih Al Amri, who delivered an informative and motivational presentation on strategies for academic success and exam preparation.

The major topics discussed during the session included:

  • Organizing course materials throughout the semester
  • Importance of maintaining separate files for lectures, assignments, projects, and previous examination papers
  • Effective methods of summarizing lessons and preparing notes
  • Using different study techniques such as written practice, mind mapping, and visual learning
  • Planning and scheduling revision before final examinations
  • Managing mobile phones, email, and social media to avoid distractions
  • Importance of sleep, nutrition, hydration, and exercise in improving concentration and memory
  • Tips for reducing stress, anxiety, forgetfulness, and mental distraction
  • Positive thinking and maintaining confidence during examinations
  • Post-examination behavior and maintaining focus on upcoming exams
  • 5 ways to overcome mental distraction and forgetfulness

Dr. Issa also emphasized the importance of continuous preparation during the semester instead of depending only on last-minute studying. Students were encouraged to make written study plans, review previous exam papers, and utilize all available learning resources effectively. Special attention was given to the importance of balanced nutrition, proper sleep, emotional control, and healthy daily habits as essential factors for academic success and improved concentration.

4. Student Response

Students actively participated in the session and found the program highly useful and motivating. The practical guidance on study planning, exam preparation, and stress management helped students better understand how to improve their academic performance. The students particularly appreciated the discussion on reducing distractions, organizing study materials, and using mind maps and summaries for effective revision. The session created awareness among students about the importance of discipline, consistency, and positive thinking during examination periods.

5. Conclusion

The Academic Risk Program successfully achieved its objectives by providing students with practical strategies for preparing for final examinations and managing academic challenges effectively. The session motivated students to adopt organized study habits, improve concentration, and maintain a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal well-being.
