The program provides high-quality education and training in the field of Electrical Engineering, with a focus on the essential technical skills and practices at the technician level, which are crucial in the job market and thus open up a wide range of prospects. The program prepares students for immediate employment, and provide them with the sufficient foundation to continue upper-division studies.

 

 

The graduates will have the ability to:

  1. Apply knowledge of Science and Engineering to examine the process and performance of Electrical systems.  
  2. Apply logically fundamental ideas to develop, implement and solve problems in electrical engineering technology.  
  3. Apply Electrical Engineering technology ideas to projects undertaken both collaboratively and individually.

  5. Effectively communicate through a series of peer and staff reviews, including oral and written reports.  
  6. Perform responsibilities that conforms to the set professional norms or standards.  
  7. Apply significant entrepreneurial skills in the field of electrical engineering technology.

Semester 1

 

The course aims to provide the underpinning knowledge in Engineering Drawing and enable the students to produce high quality engineering drawing using manual and computer aided drafting techniques.

The course aims to provide the fundamental underpinning knowledge in Physics mainly related to the topics on measurements, motion, energy, power, optics and sound.

The course aims to introduce the students to the basic concepts of engineering chemistry which form an integral part of those majoring in Engineering and an essential background for those majoring in other disciplines

The course aims to equip the graduates with problem solving, programming skills and to apply real time programming approaches in all engineering disciplines through any latest computer programming languages like python.

The course aims to provide an understanding and awareness of workplace hazards, risks and industrial safety and to impart necessary skills and competence.

Semester 2

Prerequisite:FPMP0003

The course aims to equip and enhance the students with hands on structured experience on basic engineering practices adhering to safety regulations.

Prerequisite:PHYS1110
The course aims to provide the fundamental underpinning knowledge in Physics mainly related to the topics on electricity, electromagnetism, heat, thermodynamics and modern physics.

The course aims to introduce students to renewable energy resources: availability, potential and suitability as a substitute for conventional energy resources for future energy demands.

The course aims to introduce electrical circuit components and laws, theorems, DC circuit analysis, magnetic circuits, AC circuit analysis and basics of three phase circuits.

The course aims to impart the theoretical and practical knowledge to the students to analyze the basic concepts and the overall functioning of the complete single line diagram of Electrical Power Systems which includes Generation, Transmission, Distribution and the importance of insulator, low power circuit breakers the concept of power factor.

The course aims to impart the theoretical knowledge and practical skills and to make Interpret with Oman electricity safety rules in electrical skills and wiring design.
