Navigating New Frontiers: The Imperative for AI Ethics

 

The workshop introduced the use of AI technologies and their importance in daily life, highlighting the goal and importance of AI ethics in guiding its applications positively for the benefit of users. Practical examples of AI ethics were presented, followed by a discussion on the role of government and policies in promoting AI ethics and strategies supporting ethical AI applications. The session concluded with insights into the future of AI ethics and the importance of integrated planning at the national, regional, and global levels.

The OQ Hackathon for Digital Sustainability, held on 20–21 September 2024, provided a platform for innovative solutions in sustainability and digital technology. The Engineering and Technology Department at UTAS-Nizwa participated with the project "Home Automation: Water Supply and Water Tank Monitoring System over IoT" under the supervision of Dr. Wisam.
